Are you struggling to get the attention you need from customers? Here are some strategies you should explore.

Show Don’t Tell

First, you should think about how to show your customers what you are offering rather than telling them about it. This is a literature term which helps to make writing more impactful. In the case of marketing, it will make it more difficult for customers to ignore or dismiss your business. There are lots of examples of how a ‘show don’t tell’ mindset can help your business succeed. For instance, you might be running a business that sells meat. If so, then you may want to invest in a dry aged cabinet which shows exactly how your meat is prepared. Or, if we’re thinking in the digital sense, then creating videos showing things happening behind the scenes of your business is more effective than just posting on social media.

Use Existing Customers to Your Advantage

Next, you should make sure that you are using customers you already have as agents of your brand. What does this mean exactly? Customers know that half of what is said in marketing is nonsense. They understand that sugary promises are hiding real truths and that’s why direct marketing isn’t as effective as you might presume. Instead, you’ll have a far better chance of winning over customers if you give them a reason to trust your business. This means that you need to let customers who have already bought from you do the talking. Allow them to show potential clients why they should buy through reviews, referrals and social media buzz. You might even want to explore user generated content and the opportunities that it can provide.

Give Back and Give More

Companies that gain attention from customers aren’t just selling products. They are giving something back to the world. They are doing some good and that’s what you need to be focused on. You need to make sure that you do deliver something that matters. This needs to go beyond a typical service or solution. For instance, you might want to support a charity or a cause. Companies supporting Ukraine right now may be doing it out of an ethical and moral code. But they are also taking advantage of an opportunity to build positive buzz around their brand. It’s naive to think otherwise.

Invest in Innovation

Finally, you need to make sure that you are pursuing innovative ideas in your business model. This could mean investing in new technology or it might be all about the services that you provide to your clients. There’s no set rule about how to introduce innovation into your company. However, if there’s something interesting that is shaking up your industry and making people take note then you should pay attention. It could be the answer you need to grab the attention of customers and ensure that they are always interested in your brand.

We hope this helps you understand some of the key steps that you can take to guarantee customers will pay attention to your business.
